Maria de la Luz, from Sinaloa, Mexico, firmly believes she’s expecting a baby girl in three months’ time and has an ultrasound as proof, reports Metro News.
“They told me it’s a girl. Look, you can see her little face,” Maria told reporters.
The alleged mom-to-be, who started to suspect she was pregnant three months ago, didn’t reveal further details of her pregnancy, including whether she’d had IVF treatment or other procedures.
“My legs hurt and I was vomiting and felt dizzy. Now they’ve done around 10 ultrasounds in a private clinic and in the (public) social security hospital. The doctors couldn’t believe it,” she said.
The Daily Mail reports that Maria’s children weren’t pleased when they discovered their mom was expecting a baby, saying she was too old for ‘those things’.
According to the Mirror, if Maria does give birth to her eighth child, she’ll become the oldest new mother in the world, a title held by Maria del Carmen Bousada de Lara, who was 66 when she gave birth to twin boys, Christian and Pau, with the use of IVF. Her boys were delivered prematurely by C-section and both weighed 1.6kg.
